Process

1. Learn about your character
Ms. Pincus will assign you to a team of four students, and give your team an identify from colonial America. Then find your character in the list below and do your research by visiting all four Web sites that are listed. Take notes in your Social Studies notebook.

2. Answer the question sheet
Print out the question sheet for your character. There are four questions, and each of you will answer one of them. Your team will decide how to divide up the questions. Write a two-paragraph answer for each question. Each paragraph should have at least five sentences. Remember to add detail (the more, the better) and to check your spelling and punctuation. When you’re done, show your paragraphs to your team members and ask for their feedback.

3. Make your Web page
Click on your character below to go to your Web page. Your team will create a Web page by adding these elements:

  • Type in the question sheet with your answers

  • Add at least two illustrations about your character that you found on one of the Web sites you looked at. Ms. Pincus will show the class how to add the pictures to your Web pages.

  • Add anything else that you learned about your character that you thought was interesting. It can be a picture or something you write.
The Web page is yours to design, so be creative!

4. Share your work
On the last day of our project, we’ll get together in our teams one last time and read the Web pages the other teams created. When you’re done visiting each Web page, click on “0 comments” on the bottom right of the screen. Your team will type in two things you learned from the Web page.
